  • Normally within 48 hours, the things that can take the time are employers and or previous landlord references as need to wait for them to reply.

  • Depending who they use, they can be almost instant. You'll need to have given consent for them to search but the whole process is done on-line so the search itself shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes! You may however find that a lot of agents farm all of their referencing out to an agency who may take longer to respond.

  • Hi. We've just had one reference that has taken a few days, mainly because we were waiting on the employer to come back to the referencing company. Therefore it can take up to a week, especially with a larger employer.

  • Most delays in getting reference checks done are when the agent has to wait on a 3rd party e.g. Employer or Previous Landlord. Most letting agents will be able to estimate the time it will take. - Christopher Dunn Properties
