Your will probably need at least one month as a deposit but depends on the landlord.

As said normally the Landlord or Agent will insist on one months rent as deposit (security) plus one months rent payable in advance prior to moving in. However some Landlord may insist on a higher deposit if you have and they will consider pets. Also most agents will charge fees for setting up the tenancy and referencing, so ensure you take these into consideration and ask how much these will be.

If you are not asked for one on the other hand then no you dont need to. The deposit is taken for the benefit of the landlord.

Our agency normally takes a deposit that is equivalent to one months rent. We sometimes ask for extra if you have a pet.
