Do they accept DSS and bonds?

When it comes to renting, it can be hard to find someone at the moment who takes a tenant with housing benefits and DSS, largely because they can often find someone renting through the more traditional methods. However, that's not to say that it's impossible, as there are other options that you can take to make it happen.
First stop should be to just talk to letting agents. It might be that they say "no DSS" as standard, but that if you explain your circumstances to them, they will accept it and allow you to rent after all. Be prepared to show that you have a good rental history and have a guarantor to hand who is legally responsible if you fail to keep up on your payments.
Failing this, your other option is to look at turning to the local council, where the housing department might be able to get you a list of agents who will accept benefits as standard.
