  • Hi Paulaken, As I always say on these two subjects, they are the most unfortunate and difficult hurdles to overcome at the moment. Landlords like to go for options where they see the absolute minimum amount of risk, so it stands to reason that the perceived danger of damage (through pets) or unpaid rent (due to a third-party responsibility) would be two areas they opt to steer clear of. This is not to say that you cannot rent if you are in this position, it is simply a little bit more difficult to find someone who will enter into a tenancy agreement with you. Your best option will be to use the search function on Zoopla. On the right hand side of the screen, use the keyword box to seek terms like "DSS accepted", "pets permitted" and similar to find agents who are able to help you out. For the benefits issue, you might also turn to the local council, where the housing department should be able to provide you with a list of agents who are happy to work with people getting help who you can then contact. Many thanks, Scott
