Can I rent a property with previous bad credit?

Can I rent a property with previous bad credit? I have had previous credit problems but none now, my credit still shows as bad I believe. I am willing to pay higher deposit and more rent in advance.

  • You've pretty much answered your own Q. You may want to offer 6 months' rent in advance, or get a guarantor. Your landlord may want to take out rental warranty. Your references may fail due to your bad credit history however your letting agent should be able to advise you on the next step should this happen,

  • The best thing to do is a quick & free credit score online, which should show up anything. At least then you'll be prepared should anything crop up. But always be honest to the agent.
