What can I do if I think the property I am renting is dangerous?

Loose wiring to lights, leaking toilets/ pipes. Landlord taken hefty deposit yet not interested. I cannot even use the loo! Advertised with parking - gate key broken, Advert said with kitchen appliances - microwave rusty!!

  • Speak with your local council, they will have an Housing Health and Community Officer who can visit the property and determine what needs to be done.

  • Agree with the answers above - also, make sure you have proof of everything. Keep records, and most importantly, take pictures of everything, this can later be used in court if needs be.
