How do I know if my neighbours house is rented?

I think the property next to mine is rented. Is there any way I can find out if this is true?

  • If you don't feel comfortable asking your neighbours the direct question, next time you see them on the driveway why not try saying how much they pay for their buildings insurance as you're trying to find a better deal. If they own the property then they'll be able to tell you but if not then its likely they rent as its the landlord that pays the for the buildings insurance on a assured shorthold tenancy. They'll probably say the landlord pays it and they have no idea which will get you your answer. a David from the Landlords Investors Club, Bournemouth.
