It should'nt really be their choice as such! The landlord/lady should have the final say on who rents the house. Martin & Co will no doubt advise their client accordingly, but for me the best thing to do is find a property you like the look of, call Martin & Co and ask them to ask that landlord/lady if they would accept DSS. We welcome this call at our agency and whilst some vendors do not want DSS others are more than happy. Good luck.

As the other user said below, the final say is with the Landlord of the Property. Many Martin & Co offices will accept Housing Benefit. Your best option is too find a house you like and then ask the agent if this particular Landlord would accept it. Another way is to ask the agent if they do have any properties they know off where the Landlord has no problem with Housing Benefit. They may have a number of properties where they know the Landlord will accept and so they can stop you searching needlessly. If you have any further questions about lettings or Martin & Co services, please feel free to ask me. I am currently opening an office in Altrincham so would be more than happy to help.
