Although I have the deposit and a full-time job....I do have a bad credit rating....will I find it difficult to rent?

  • You will find all the letting agents will do Credit Checks on their tenants. The only way round is if you could pay for the Six months up front and then the Landlord can be informed and take a view on the situation.

  • You may also try to get a guarantor from someone with a good credit rating; some agents will accept that, but ultimately it is down to the landlord.

  • You would have to provide a guarantor, whose credit check/income etc. would need to be verified. Also, depends slightly on what debts you have and when occurred. If it was a while ago since you got into financial difficulty and you've since managed your finances ok, then this will help.
