Renting with bad credit record?

Are there any estate agents that do not do a credit check when wanting to rent a property?

  • As standard, most estate agents will carry out a credit check to assess the credentials of any prospective tenant. However, you do not have an ideal credit rating (this is becoming a more common issue, often for those who are victims of circumstance) then there is often the possibility of securing a guarantor. The guarantor will act as a third party who is liable to pay your rent if at any point you are unable to do so. Think carefully before asking someone as this is a big committment - however speak to any estate agent you chose to rent though and they will advise on their procedures. Good luck with your home search.
