Urgent advice needed please

We have lived at rented property coming up for 6 years when moved in beige carpets had only been cleaned and over time worn thin so 2 week b4 xmas we sorted that we pay £150 cash upfront l/lord paid £200 towards and then we pay £50 per month x 6mnth. It paid up but 1 week ago we got a letter saying that he is selling the house and we have to find another property. Where do we stand as only had 5mnths out of expensive brand new carpet. Can I ask him to refund me? Please advise as gutted about it all already.

  • It's not an easy choice to move out from a property you have lived in for nearly 6yrs. However, there is nothing that will stop your landlord to sell the house. It's just the moral that your landlord should think about. But if you know why your landlord has decided to sell the house, it will help to avoid any misunderstandings.
