Rental market near Christmas.
Is the rental market usually quiet in December?

The rental market is currently entering one of its busier periods, but it will tend to go a little quieter the closer and closer you get to Christmas.
Anyone who is looking to move home for Christmas will tend to be doing it around October and December so they have plenty of time to not only move in but also get settled down before the festive period.
The market will then pick up again after Christmas, as people tend to look for a new start in the new year. However, there is certainly an argument to say that for the few weeks around Christmas itself, with people preoccupied elsewhere, there is a short period where the market starts to slow down.

The market certainly slows down towards the end of Nov, and is extremely quiet in December. It picks up again in early Jan.
If you are looking to let your property and would like some advice, please feel free to give us a call (we are a nationwide online letting agency).
Which ever agent you chose should be able to refresh your listing in January (or at any time) to ensure that even if it has been on the market of a while, it appears to be newly listed.

Apologies for the late reply however we see that in December we have a lot more registered buyers and tenants inquiring on our properties both for rent and sale. We usually see a spike in potential tenant / buyer activity across this period which follows in to January.
We hope this helps.
