If a property is listed as a student house does that mean only students can rent it?

  • Not normally. The landlord *may* insist on proof of student status but most are happy to just take the rent. Bear in mind that if you are not a student, the other housemates may not "gel" with you the same. Student lets are normally one room with shared bathroom/kitchen. In general they are more expensive than other bedsits. Student landlords will not normally take HB tenants.
