My rent is paid by the DSS and I have four dogs

My landlord wants me to leave because of the dogs, but I rented with these dogs, how can he throw me out now? Do I have rights? It isn't easy to find a landlord to accept DSS and dogs, now I might be homeless or living with mum and boyfriend, who already put up my brother in similar situation, on dole. Please help!!!!! We're all desperate.

  • If your tenancy is coming to an end and he has given you notice to quit there is very little you can do even if he did take you on as a tenant with dogs. Best contact some local letting agents and estate agents etc to see if they have anyone who will take you on.

  • You need to contact your local authority who may be able to help rehome you. Other than this, if the Landlord has served the correct notices there is very little you can do.
