I might rent a room in this area. What's it like? Are there many young people living there? Does it have good transport links to Central London?

Good high street, quite green, fairly expensive - young folks and families. Gets pretty busy down by the river in summer. Train station that is 15 minutes into Waterloo, or tube from east Putney and Putney bridge on district line which is slower but works ok as well. Generally Putney is a great spot.
