What is the meaning of £48 pw?

In UK is everything paid with week system? Like house rent per week? Or will it be deducted automatically from salary accounts?

  • It means £48 per week, most rents are paid monthly, usually the date your tenancy started, example - 16th tenancy started, every month on the 16th, your rent is due.

  • As previously answered, rents in the UK are normally paid by calendar month but in some areas (mainly in London) all rents are quoted per week. You will actually pay the rent every month (take the weekly rent, multiply by 52 and divide by 12 to see what this will be). The rent will normally be taken from your bank account by standing order and not direct from your salary.

  • Hi, This is meaning that the rental cost of the property would be £48 per week. Rents are usually paid monthly however it is worth speaking to your estate agent or landlord when organising payments.
