Rent increase and agents fees

I'd like to know what amount you can increase rent by in terms of a percentage. My agent is suggesting a 2-4% rise, which I dont agree with. My rent has not gone up for over 6 years now, surely the market is not stagnant? Also, this is the second year of renewals with this agent. He only found this tenant, does not manage. what should I pay him for a renewal based on this?

  • Assuming your tenancy is on an Assured Short hold base and the property is residential, then there are no limitations as to how much you can increase the rent to.
