What is a 'letting agent'?

Would I need one even though I'll be renting a flat?

  • A Letting Agent is a (usually) company who act for landlords who have property to let out. you don't need to use one if you are looking for a flat to rent but most landlorda use them. Aagents cannot charge you just to register on their books to look for accommodation but will charge you for things like a tenancy agreement, credit checks on you, reference obtaining, and will charge a deposit on any property you rent.
