It depends on your needs, an unfurnished property can be cheaper, but you will need to furnish it.

This depends upon individual circumstances. Rental furniture is vey handy in some situations but not required in others. It is wrong to suggest either is better.

As above, make sure an inventory is done and anything to be rid of is signed off, you retain a copy of this

It's up to you and what you require! If you have furniture then get unfurnished, the only problem is any damages to the landlords furniture will come out of your deposit.
