Rent for notice period

I am a tenant and my lease has a two calendar months notice period. If I serve notice on 3rd April, do I have to pay the rent for up to 2nd June or 3rd of June? Many thanks of the help!

  • This will partly depend on your tenancy agreement and how the notice clause is worded but typically if you serve notice on 3rd the final day will be the 2nd of the corresponding month. Do check your tenancy however as som erequire notice to fall in line with contract dates to avoid partial month rental payments, etc.
