Best area for investment?

I am thinking to invest in Leicester, what should be the best area and what's better a flat or a house? thanks

  • Areas close to the station and the hospitals always rent well. It is best to look at each house on a case by case basis. If you purchase a £75k house for 60k in an ok area it is better than investing £100k on a £100k house in a better area, I would suggest. The easiest way to reliably purchase property below market value is either through auction or to purchase a repossession.

  • Generally the smaller the property, the better the return. Be careful of auctions: for a rentable residential property around £100k, you won't be the only HutH viewer in the room.
