  • Some will, it will just depend on the Landlord's preferences. Best thing is to get in touch with some local agencies and ask what properties they have on their books that accept DSS.

  • We would recommend contacting the council directly as they may have a list of agents who deal with DSS. You can also try and rent privately. Good website is where many private landlords advertise their properties

  • You can improve your chances if you offer to provide a guarantor, which may be acceptable to some landlords. Ideally, the guarantor should be employed and a property owner - this way, if the actual DSS tenant is late or defaults, the landlord's interest should be secured as an employed homeowner guarantor will have a lot to lose if the case goes to court and is likely to settle any outstanding debts without a lengthy process. Having said that, I am a landlord myself and I typically get 50+ enquiries for any vacant property so I would struggle to justify increased risk of renting to a DSS tenant when I can pick and chose between good quality employed tenants...
