Where would you recommend me to live?
I am relocating soon to the UK from Canada for work purposes and will be positioned in our office located in the Soho area. I wish to rent a place for myself and pay no more than 700 per month. I'm aware of the high prices in London but willing to live a bit outside (no more than 50 minutes by train/tube) to the city. My preference is the north, west and the north west, excluding : Hammersmith Broadway, Harlesden, Seven sisters, Heathrow Villages, Shepherd's Bush Green, Edmonton, Enfield, Stonebridge Park (all three in NW) Finsbury Park, Wembley, Haringey, Willesden, Tottenham (N) Wood Green. Where would you recommend me to live if I want to live close to the train station / tube?

For £700 a month I guess you'd get a tent. £700 would get you with great luck a week and a half in a studio flat around Central London.

I believe you may need to extend your search, slightly further away from Central London. This is because your budget would not cover the cost of renting in the Central London area. You may find looking around East London more sucsessful. You could also look into parts of Essex, such as Ilford, Gants Hill and Redbridge. You'll be able to find a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment matching your budget there.
