Renting in Manchester area for a single person/ do you know a nice area?

Hi I am a young woman looking to rent a flat in Manchester. I am looking for 1 bedroom flat in a nice area and close to city center or an area with good public transport to city center. I am looking to relocate, so I will not have a job. The price will be around £400pcm, but not more than £500. Can you please advise some safe areas? Thank you

  • Hi, For the price you are looking to spend per month, it is most likely that you will be looking outside of the city centre, as those places in the city itself are often more expensive. However, you should be able to get something that is not too far away, and has reasonable prices. I would recommend looking at something like Salford. It is a nice enough area near to the city centre itself with decent transport links (buses travel to and from the city centre regularly), and you should also be able to get a decent price for rent there as well. You also mention that you will not have a job, so it is important to remember that any landlord will be looking for a guarantee that you can afford to pay them their rent each month. You will need to have the ability to pay most of the rent for the period of your tenancy in one go, or a letter from a guarantor if you want to rent while unemployed. Many thanks, Scott
