With some agents they may just do the standard references ie previous landlord and employers, but will most likely require a UK homeowner guarantor.

You can still rent however a rental agent will take up references from previous landlords and employers. But you will definitely be required to provide a Guarantor who is a homeowner. I hope this is of assistance
