What does freehold tenure mean when renting?

Hi, i was just wondering what freehold tenure means when renting a property from a landlord?

  • It means that the landlord owns the full title to the property like most houses in the UK are freehold and a large % of flats are Leasehold. It does not make any difference and does not affect the tenant when renting

  • Quite right, do not concern yourself with this point. The more concerning would be leasehold as you would need to be aware of the head lease obligations.
