  • Hi. If there are no neighbours to ask, look at the Land Registry title deeds, which will cost you a small fee of £3. You can then try and make contact with the owner. However, the owner’s registered address is often the empty property itself, which makes things difficult! To track them down you will have to become a bit of a super sleuth, using the obvious such as Google or the National Archives. Another option is to speak with the council, who may have a dedicated Empty Homes Officer. They keep lists of abandoned and empty properties and can often help. I have also included a link to a more detailed article that talks through how to find empty properties, funding options for renovating and the pros and cons of taking on these projects.
