We have a poor credit rating but want to private rent where do we look?

We have mortgage statements to prove we never miss a mortgage payment although our credit rating is poor. A roof over our heads has always been priority. Due to recent circumstances we are looking into renting but are worried our credit rating will let us down. Are there letting agents that would specialise in tthis field? Thanks

  • Hello, I often deal with applicants who have poor credit. The majority of them who do not have CCJ's or Defaults actually pass the references fine. However, I always advise them to apply with a Guarantor as a back up just in the event of their references failing. If you have a Guarantor this would be the best option for you. It might be best for you to contact a few agents within your local area to discuss your situation and see what options they give you.
