  In general, demand for private rental properties outstrips supply but this will be tempered by location. Rents have been on the increase for the past year. If you are thinking of becoming a landlord, there are an increasing number of options for buy to let mortgages. Buy to let is not a get rich quick scheme. It is a medium to long term investment strategy that requires planning and hard work. Make sure you talk to a specialist broker before you start. Do lots of research.
