You need to be at least 18 years old to be regarded as an adult in the eyes of the law and therefore mature enough to enter into a legal contract.

You will need to be 18 years of age, and as with any tenancy, need proof of income and maybe a guarantor!

Some agents may allow a tenancy to commence under the age of 18 (it's called something like a Tenancy of Necessity), however it is a rare thing and especially difficult if you intend to claim housing benefit. Some agents may ask for your guarantor to be named as the tenant instead of you as a way to get round it.
