What does 'Let' mean?

In what context? I assume you mean on a board saying "Let" - this would lead me to believe the property has been Let subject to contract which means somebody has made an acceptable offer which has been accepted by the Landlord. Enquire with the agents to find out what stage the deal is at - you may be in with a chance still if you wanted to rent it.
