Can you be 17 years of age to rent a flat?

I am 17 and soon to be 18 and I am going to be coming into a great deal of money from my trust fund. I am also looking for a good paid job at the same time as being a student at college. I finish my college course next year and will be going on to Aberyswyth university. But I would like to move out now to get the independence and start my life.

  • It's unlikely that you will be able to rent accommodation if you are under 18 years old unless you can get a 'guarantor' to also sign for you. My mum was at aberyswyth university which she thoroughly enjoyed. I'd be cadgy about your inheritance: you'll pick up the wrong friends! Best of luck
