How is the rental market?

I am hoping to rent out two large rooms in my house, these two rooms will share a bathroom and kitchen, there is also allocated parking. How is the market for such things at the moment ?

  • It all depends where the property is. Best speak to a few local estate agents and they should be able to advise you the demand in your area. The other way to test this is to put an advert in the local newspaper and see what response you have.

  • The rental market, generally, is still strong. This is because a lot more people can not afford mortgages because of the current economic climate, and therefore more people are looking to rent. Regarding the house you enquired about, the rental price may differ depending on the area of the house, as well as the living conditions & furniture. You may find that you may also be able to rent the parking space separately for a little extra price. The best thing to do is get in contact with local agents, and arrange a valuation for the apartment. The demand for apartments in your specific area will also have an impact on the rental price set. I hope this helps!
