I am selling my house and have equity, but a recent poor credit history. Will I be refused by a letting agent?

  • This might be a problem with the letting agency, But if you approach them in the right manner where you can deposit 6 months’ rent for the term of the Tenancy agreement and providing the owner of the property is happy with the arrangement you should be ok. Letting agents normally check to see if you are employed etc and ask for a letter from the employer for a reference. So you should be ok.

  • You can pay by cash and you may be asked to have a guarantor

  • I think the larger the deposit you can put down the easier it will become, especially if you pay 6-12months rent upfront.
