Can you rent with an IVA ? Do private landlords still carry out credit checks?

Depends on the private Landlord. If you're up front about your credit history and have proof of current income and preferably a guarantor, you could probably get something through an Agency too. Having an IVA doesn't automatically make you 'unsuitable', especially these days.

Hi, most agents will carry out a credit check before renting to tenants. However, if you have a UK home owner guarantor who is willing to act for you most agents will overlook any previous bad credit history.
