Why won't anyone accept a large family?

Does anyone ever accept large families? I am currently in a private renting in Manchester and am looking to move to Somerset/Dorchester or Cornwall. I've never had any problems with renting before and don't feel as though I should be dishonest or embarrassed at the size of my family. I've sent well over 40 requests for houses and refused by them all. I want to relocate, I am willing to pay 6 months in advance plus a deposit, I do have a job, but cannot take it as nobody will rent us a house. We are a nice family and take care of the properties we have previously lived in, we have never had any problems. Can anyone help our large family and 1 dog?

  • My immediate thought is to try and speak to people in person, but this is not so easy if you have to travel a long distance. Too many people have a set idea of who will be the best people to rent a property to, without realising that just one person alone could be the nightmare tenant. If you can get to speak to agents in person it might just make a difference, also provide good references. Best of luck.

  • I agree (thumbs up) make your self seem more human to them too, you can also ring them so they can hear you in person too.
