  • You can check this on the police UK website, which shows crime and policing stats across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Just enter the postcode.

  • Hi wakemate, Crime rates are something that you can make use of the Zoopla website to establish now, allowing you to check against other areas and national averages to establish how safe the area you are looking to move to is. To find this information, you need to head to the homepage, and search for any property for sale in SS1 postcode. This will bring up a list of random properties in your area. It doesn't matter if none meet your requirements - we're only using them for information at the moment. Click the first listing and open it up. From here, simply click the tab above the photograph that says 'local info' and scroll down the first bar graph. On this, you will see a tab relating to crime. Click this to open the next bar chart. On the resultant page, you will see a list of comparisons between the chosen area and the national average. As you'll see from this, Southend on Sea has crime rates that are slightly above average in each of the categories, with violence being the most common crime in the area. Many thanks, Scott
