How safe is Taylor Street, Consett, County Durham?

I am interested in a property in Consett and would like to know the economic condition of the area. Is it a safe place with regards to crime etc?

  • Hi Robsam19, When looking at the safety of any area, it is important to check the levels of crime compared to the national average using the site mentioned above. By searching for the street you specified, I found that in December 2012 (the most up-to-date figures available), there were some 76 instances of reported crime, of which 52 had outcomes. This means that there are far fewer offences committed here than compared to the nation as a whole. It is also important to compare to similar places in the region and others of the same size. By doing this, it can be seen that the number of incidents occurring in Taylor Street, Consett, is far lower than for areas of the same size, as well as being below other settlements covered by the Durham force.
