What is it like to live in Liverpool, any places to avoid?
Are there any areas that you wouldn't recommend an outsider moving to? I know every place has its bad areas, but easy to live in when you have been brought up there but scary to an outsider.

I'm a scouse lass born and bred in Bootle area then my family moved to Litherland/Sefton when I was three. I would thoroughly recommend Woolton which still has the villagey atmosphere and is a glorious area to live. West Derby is nice too but quite an old area and on the busy Queens Drive route. There's also Broadgreen, that's nice too. Having said that, Liverpool city centre has been under rejuvenation for a few years now and there are some really nice city centre apartments which overlook the river if you like city living. Across the river mersey too there are some lovely areas around Chester and in Wirral which might suit you. Good luck with your search.

Sorry, I meant to say avoid Bootle, Norris Green, Croxteth, Netherton, Everton, Walton, Fazakerley and definitely Kirkby. Oh, another nice area is Childwall, near Woolton. They're up in the south of the city along with John Lennon airport.

There's nothing wrong with Norris Green, just about all of Norris Green is really nice.
