Is Dunlop Street in Glasgow city centre safe?

I'm thinking of moving from the West End to Dunlop Street in the city centre of Glasgow. I like the flat (Metropole building), but not sure about the area - been there at night and seems a bit rough. Any tips? Many thanks :)

  • We would suggest that you check out the local Tourism website & check the crime rates for the area. Do some research on the internet – it’s worth calling a few of the agents too to get some advice. Spend some time in the area that you are interested in too – try to get a feel for the place. Good Luck!

  • Hi there, the Metropole building is really cool and I understand your concerns as it can get a bit dark at nights and also a bit quiet. At the weekends it can get a bit noisy but if the apartment has double glazing, security entry and on a reasonably high floor it will be minimal. I hope this has been of help.

  • Living in City Centre. It is very safe due to bright lights, cctv and police. Safer than the West End in my view!
