What sort of area is Yew Hill Road, Lockwood like, especially safety and crime?

It is very close to Thornton Lodge which I have been told is a bad area which raises my concern as Yew Hill Road is so close to this. I would appreciate any feed back.

  • Have a look on the police website and put the post code in this should show you all crime figures in the area http://www.police.uk/

  • I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.

  • Yews Hill Road is one of the worst roads in Thornton Lodge especially in terms of drugs etc. However, as you will probably realise the drugs are a silent crime. Yews Hill Road is also very close to the Thornton Lodge Community Centre, outside which there was a shooting in which the victim died in 2008 and the Community Centre was burnt down soon after. That should say it all :)

  • I would suggest looking www.upmystreet.com and also www.crimeinmyarea.co.uk where you can find the crimes that took place in that area!
