I'm going to a show at the Brixton Academy next month, is it safe late at night?

I'm not sure if I'm catching the tube or a bus but is it safe for two women by themselves late at night?

  It's not too bad and the tube station is only a short walk from the Academy. Keep an eye on your bags and you'll be fine.

  I honestly believe the threat posed by some less than glamorous area's is more in peoples minds than in reality, though of course its possible to have bad luck and incidents here, or indeed anywhere, usually just opportunist bag snatching or something like that.
