It's best to read through the area guide for Oldham provided by Zoopla. You can also visit Zoopla's partner Up My Street to find out specific crime rates.

Crime rates are falling it would seem. Look to speaking to a community support officer in the area you are interested in, to find out what is being done to target problems.

I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.
