  • Hi jennypea, in Reading, the crime rate has been falling rather quickly for the past three years, leaving the town with a level of criminal activity that is below the average seen across the nation as a whole. In general over the past few years, the area has seen its crime rate dropping alongside that for the Thames Valley as a whole, and far quicker than the similar sized towns and cities in its group, which have been declining slowly. In terms of transport and travelling to the area, Reading is very well served. Its geographical position means that it has become an important point on the rail network, with trains travelling to most of the major cities across the nation, while access to the M4 and a number of A-roads is also simple, making the town easy to travel to from anywhere in the UK. For local traffic, there are also numerous bus services around the area daily.
