The transport options in Retford are actually rather good, despite it being a market town, which often have quite a rural character to them.
In terms of road links, the town sits at a bypass on the A1 trunk road, meaning that it has road links to some of the biggest towns and cities in the country for drivers.
Those travelling by bus will find both a National Express service to London in under two hours and a number of more local options that go through the likes of Worksop, Newark, Robin Hood Airport and Bawtry from the new £1.4 million bus station.
And finally, the rail options are also good, given that the station is a meeting point for the East Coast Main Line between London and Scotland, which passes through a number of big settlements, and the Sheffield to Lincoln line that offers you the chance to reach Sheffield, Lincoln, Cleethorpes, Worksop and Grimsby.
