  • I don't know Hastings well enough to answer personally but try this web site it is very useful to look at schools and also other factors that may affect your decision to buy in any given area. I would also suggest asking the local Estate Agents as they will know. www.upmystreet.co.uk Good Luck

  • Blacklands County Primary has a good reputation. I think that you need to go and look around the schools yourself - this is not a cop out, but if your 9 year old is in year 5 you are really planning now for secondary school not primary. You need therefore to look at the secondary school you want, and then where they take their kids from. You then need to make sure that your 9 year old will be happy for the short time remaining to him / her at that primary school. With the four year old, you can always choose an infant school, and change at junior level - this is a much easier transition and happens frequently. It's always tough choosing schools, but do involve 9 year old and good luck. PS - for Hastings you also have to look at if you want single sex of mixed secondary.......William Parker and Helenswood are the two I know / knew well but you would probably be nearer the Grove which has had good results recently.

  • Check with your local authority they should be able to give you a list of schools in your catchment area and then typing them into google to see what information you can find or use Web reference: http://www.schoolsnet.com/uk-schools/schoolHome.jsp
