Many of the big websites (incl zoopla) only accept estate agents ads. Which sites accept individuals?
If I am considering selling my house directly, rather than employing an estate agent, which websites will allow me to advertise directly and avoid the estate agency costs? the ones I have heard of will not take my advert.

The only one is Google. Google are launching a property portal that will be the first to allow individuals to advertise their property. Your best bet is to try and email them and find out more information direct.

If you have not heard of any websites which advertise for private sellers, there is a good chance the buyers will not have heard of them either!

Google maybe but that is it. Tesco's tried but fell flat. Other than that I don't think that there are any portals that let private sellers on them. Best of luck.

I have found an online estate agent (housenetwork) that charges a reasonable amount to put your advert into the important places, I have gone with them, and it seems OK so far. I will let you know if it turns out a disaster, but it certainly saves thousands on estate agency fees.
