As per the above answer whilst you dont need a solicitor, if you are getting a mortgage on the property then the bank or building society will insist that you do. It is always advisable to have a solicitor as they are in expensive compared to the consiquence should it transpire there is something wrong with title or searches etc. It also advisable to have a survey carried out as you are investing literally hundresds of thousands of pounds.
