  • Not by much more than the cost of building the conservatory. Structural solidity if there are any issues is the biggest thing. A recent government report showed that energy efficiency in some parts of the country i.e North could improve values by 14%. Otherwise add space Loft conversions and side returns.

  • I would look more at things like kitchen and bathroom.

  • Potentially it could do, although as stated previously it might not add more than it costs. Further Studies have said that potentially 20% could be added to your Properties Value by implementing a Complete 'Cosmetic Make-Over'. • Hi Pam, That is a hard question as it's not necessarily something that could majorly effect a homes value. On the surface, it is logical to assume that an extension will add significant value to your property, and this is often the case. However, we would urge caution when justifying the cost of improvements versus the expected increase in value. We recently blogged about adding extensions in order to increase property values which you may find interesting - http://www.peterheron.co.uk/news/123/should-we-extend/ & http://www.peterheron.co.uk/news/128/ask-an-expert/ However generally adding additional storage to a property will increase the saleability of your home and potentially increase the value but again we would urge caution when justifying the cost of improvements versus the expected increase in value. We hope this helps.
