  • Hi! In my strong opinion it`s a bad idea, becouse of many reasons. If you want to do it by yourself you should become an agent and know all the steps from ads to legal issues.

  • Strongly agree with Amilia, many problems and pitfalls can arise with selling a house, just pay an agent who will do a decent fee.

  • You can sell your property without an agent. You can advertise on sites like gumtree or even offline in newspapers or buy your own printed correx board. The key is having a list of questions to ask potential buyers and you can filter through people. A good set of people that will be looking to buy properties are landlords and developers. You could get in touch with them. I know many landlords, developers and investors that buy property direct from sellers. Most of these buyers are cash buyers or have mortgages in place and are ready to buy. Once you and the buyer have your solicitors at hand they will handle the legal side of things and make sure all the conveyancing in done. They may also get a valuation and survey done. There really is no issue with legal issues as you are selling your own home, you will choose who buys it and ensure you have your solicitor and the buyers has theirs. Do what feels right and what you're comfortable with.
